  The Amber Room

The purpose of the game was to find the Amber Room. The game was changed ‘live’ while it was being played, but this was discovered by one participant who was able to go to the place where the Amber Room was supposed to be hidden

The teams played the games in a competitive manner.

The game started with the sending of an email to all participants to draw their attention. This approach is based on the ARG concept that ‘this is not a game’. The email read as follows:

Kunas email:
“Hello, my name is Kunas. I am from Lithuania, 16 years old and I found by accident while I was looking in google games (it looks like if there is a lack of security in the server) a "back door" in a game server called The Ambar Room, your name and the names of your colleagues were there listed as players. I am using one of their mail address to contact you.

I do not know if I should write you or not but I love games and I thought I could help you to solve the 2 clues I found in the server. You can win the game if we keep this in secret you are the only one who is receiving this information. Please do not tell anybody I do not want to be in trouble I am not an Internet hacker.”

The first clue is: see image attached the site says if you disclose the meaning and the math operation is done properly you should find the solution by playing with the result. I am not good on math. I also found a file with an image that I attach here.

The second one:
Torun begins with “T”
But Ends with?
If you know the answer you can send it to me, it looks like if it is a sort of code that I have to introduce somewhere to unlock something, please SMS the answer if you know it to the following phone number 0036702763822

Please note you are the only ones who are receiving and in the server there was a note saying confidential information so please do not circulate because it looks like this information is very important for winning the game. It decodes all the clues for the game but also the answers as you can imagine the ones who get this, win the game and the prize.

The story of the Amber Room as it was written but not integrated in the game, it was piece of the ARG puzzle.

“The Amber Room
How do the mysteries come into being? They appear when somebody deliberately hushes up something essential and then expects to make some use of it. By getting a key of the mystery accidentally or matchmaking this accidental nature with the fate.
By believing in fate and waiting until it comes true.
By seeking and finding.
When you do not search and do not believe but you find yourself in a right place and in a right time. The secret is a beauty shielded by a veil – you can see only a slightly streak and it intrigues, excites, and makes an itch in the palms – you want to take the veil off so much. It does not always work, it does not work for everybody. There is a valid rule: if two generations tries to find the answer and did not succeed you have to accept that this secret is a hard nut to crack. Also there is another thing: the bigger secret the more talk you can hear about it – you can hear very clear evidences, witness.”

A poster was also developed for launching the game incorporating the following wordplay
